The Foundation that Provides Education to Students Who Can't Study Due to Lack of Money
Sultan II. Bayezid was visiting the Amasya complex with his viziers in 1495. At that time, when he heard that among the gathered crowd who came to see the Sultan and wanted to see him, some barefooted children had to be employed by their families due to necessity, he announced his decision to establish that historical foundation that would not be forgotten even after centuries.
“This is the mosque and madrasah of all my people. From now on, no child will be deprived of school and education due to financial impossibility, as well as their education expenses, their clothing and food will also be covered.
As a matter of fact, the Sultan knew well that this order could only gain continuity thanks to a foundation.
He helped the poor children of Amasya gain a foundation by providing education with 100% scholarship.
This foundation, which was registered as the Bayezid II Foundation, will later expand its service network and make it a foundation condition to cook food for all the needy, passengers and guests together with the children of low-income people, and even to give barley and oats to the riding animals.
