The Foundations of the Good Civilization on the Island were laid with the Sultan Selim Foundation, which was established in 1571
Sultan Selim Han wanted the welfare of the people of Cyprus to rise without making any distinction between religion and nationality, with the edict he wrote after he conquered Cyprus in 1571. Sultan Selim Han, who gave instructions to the administrators, said, “In my reign, which should have been full of justice, every member of the people would continue their business and profit with a pleasant and peaceful heart, and their old state would be preserved. It is my best aim to make the island happy and prosperous, and its inhabitants to be safe, prosperous and secure”, and revealed his management approach.
After the conquest, he established the Sultan Selim Foundation as the first action and laid the foundations of 2200 foundations in Cyprus and started a "Civilization of Goodness".
During the 3 centuries passed under Turkish rule, people of all nationalities and religions lived in peace, and the problems began after the administration of Cyprus passed to the British in 1878.
