Lefke Piri Pasha Mosque
The Piri Pasha Mosque, which has a three-arched meeting place and a cylindrical architecture made of cut stone, is also known as the Upper Mosque and the Minareli Mosque.
During the Ottoman conquest of Cyprus in 1570-1571, Mehmet Bey, the grandson of Pir Pasha, one of the viziers of Suleiman the Magnificent, and the flag bearer of Paphos, saw this ruined mosque during his visit to Lefke, and this venerable one whose genealogy goes back to Hazrat Abu Bakr. He renovated the mosque and named it after his grandfather.
