Joint Projects Discussed Between the Cyprus Evkaf Administration and the Presidency of Religious Affairs of Türkiye
The President of the Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Prof. Dr. Safi Arpaguş, visited the Director General of the Cyprus Evkaf Administration, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, on the occasion of Mosques and Religious Officials Week. During the meeting, the two sides discussed potential joint initiatives and areas for future cooperation between the two institutions.
Developing projects for young people, organising joint activities during Ramadan, and expanding mosque libraries were among the key topics discussed. Particular emphasis was placed on initiatives that would contribute to the cultural and spiritual development of young people, as well as joint activities that highlight Ramadan’s role in strengthening social solidarity.
The establishment of mosque libraries and the further development of existing ones were also discussed. The importance of recognising mosques not only as places of worship, but also as centres that facilitate access to knowledge and contribute to passing cultural heritage on to future generations, was emphasised.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on implementing joint projects by drawing on the experience and resources of both institutions, and on further strengthening cooperation across various fields.
