Cyprus Foundations Administration added new libraries to three schools
The Cyprus Foundations Administration opened a brand new school library at Nicosia Turkish High School today with an opening ceremony at the school. Thus, the Foundations Administration added libraries to 3 new schools.
Cyprus Foundations Administration (KVI) opened a brand new school library at Nicosia Turkish High School today with an opening ceremony at the school. The Cyprus Foundations Administration has provided library support to existing schools across Northern Cyprus in the past six weeks.
While KVI donated a library to 20 July Science High School and Nicosia Turkish High School with its own means, it also contributed to Alayköy Primary School by providing digital support to the library built with partner institutions. Nicosia Turkish High School, one of the oldest schools in Cyprus, today has a completely renovated library built with the generous support of the Barutçuzade Ahmet Vasıf Efendi Foundation.
"4 THOUSAND BOOKS WILL BE SERVED"
According to the statement made by the foundation, the library area of the school was expanded to 100 square meters and more books were stocked. When the library shelves are full, it will serve an area with the capacity to accommodate 4000 domestic and foreign books.
The library also provides a large archive facility, reading and quiet study areas, and a digitized space with new computers, copiers and printers to assist students in their research and study. Nicosia Turkish High School was established 125 years ago to provide a quality education to students from all walks of life.
  KVI provided support to new initiatives that would support the stable decisions of the school administration. In order to prevent any young person studying at the school from being able to do their homework if they do not have a computer at home, not having financial opportunities to buy books, or to prevent the student from being disadvantaged in accessing the school due to such reasons, the idea of a library that will bring young people to school was put forward and implemented.

KVI, we have declared 2022 as the Year of Education (Science). Promising to establish libraries and laboratories in all schools, it is happy to deliver the third new library to Turkish Cypriot schools.
These vital areas are intended to provide our children with access to more books, better reading environments and other new digital tools necessary for their work, to enable our children to develop in the light of the information they have received and to reveal this with their ideas in real life.
"WE WILL SUPPORT MORE SCHOOLS"
Last week, KVI opened a modern library at the 20 July Science High School in the capital Nicosia. KVI President Prof. Dr. Benter, Head of Secondary Education Department of the Ministry of National Education Cengiz Topel Uzun, representatives of institutions that support the library project, members of the parent-teacher association, school personnel and students participated. At the same time, KVI provided the necessary support for the construction of a new library to Alayköy Primary School on April 1, 2022.
In the new library area of 35 square meters, there is a new interactive television with internet connection, which can access audiobook sites so that students can listen to the narrations. KVI Director Prof. “We look forward to supporting more schools in the coming weeks and months, helping them provide comfortable and attractive library spaces to their students,” said Ibrahim Benter.
