Vice President Oktay spoke at the opening of the Turkish-Islamic Science History in 100 Objects Exhibition

Oktay spoke at the Turkish-Islamic Science History Exhibition in 100 Objects, opened in the historical bedesten in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), where he came for the 38th anniversary of its foundation. Reminding that the exhibition was opened by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential National Library in Ankara in recent months, Oktay expressed his satisfaction that the exhibition was brought to the TRNC.

Stating that the history of Turkish-Islamic science and technology, which constitutes the golden pages of world civilization, has come to life again in Nicosia today, Oktay said, "Let's explore our history of science beyond centuries, on the occasion of the exhibition, which has a very rich content in order to understand the past and make sense of the future. Stating that until a few centuries ago, the science center of the world was the Turkish-Islamic geography with its madrasas, libraries and observatories, and said:

"While sky observations were made with superior geometric calculations in our homeland, while medical operations were performed in hospitals with techniques far ahead of time, the rest of the world was going through dark periods. For the first time in the world's history, a research tradition combining experiment, observation and measurement with logical and mathematical thinking is established in Nizamiye madrasahs and Beytül Hikme. The foundations of modern science were being laid. Monuments such as Uluğ Bey, İbn-i Sina, Ali Kuşçu, El-Cezeri, Muhammed Harezmi, Ahmet Fergani and Ebu Reyhan Biruni were revealing the treasures of civilization of the world. With works such as Türk's, Yusuf Has Hacip's 'Kutadgu Bilig' and Edip Ahmet Yukneki's 'Atabetü'l Hakayık', inscriptions beyond the age were being written in applied sciences and philosophy, as well as in rhetoric and linguistics.

He then modeled the inventions described in these manuscripts, manufactured them. 100 works from this rich collection, which transcend the ages, have been carefully selected and made ready for exhibition. From medicine to astronomy, from geographical sciences to navigation inventions, from geometry to optics, groundbreaking discoveries are at your fingertips in this exhibition. Considered the first major observatory, From the animations of the observation instruments of the Meraga Observatory and the Istanbul Observatory, one of the centers of the Ottoman state in astronomy studies, to the astrolabes, the most used instrument in astronomy, from the medical instruments of the Andalusian physician Zehravi to the cryptic box of the Artuqid engineer Cezeri. It is of great importance for everyone, young and old, to visit the narrow wide range of exhibitions.
