In the first match of Group B of the 2026 European Cup Qualifying Tournament held in Sassari, Italy, Vakıflar Wheelchair Basketball Team representing our country faced the host D Junior Team Sassari.

Vakıflar, who left the match with a big victory with a score of 86-43, made a good start to the tournament.

Murat Ekşi, the star of the match, played the leading role in the victory with 42 points, 22 rebounds and 8 assists. Another important player of the team, Vedat Küçükyılmaz, drew attention with a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists.

In addition, Abdulkerim Gökpur contributed to the victory with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists; Serhat Özbudak with 12 points and 4 assists; Güner Beşkardeşler with 6 points; and Günay Kibrit with 2 points.

Vakıflar Wheelchair Basketball Team will play their second match in the group today at 15:30 against the Dutch team Sunrise Medical Shooters. We wish success to our entire team!
