The Cyprus Foundations Administration has determined the year 2021, which is the 450th anniversary of its establishment, as the year of struggle against selfishness and waste.

In the studies conducted with the Evkaf administration and the Kindness Volunteers, the most important problems in front of the Turkish Cypriot community were identified as the selfishness of individuals and the increase in waste. In 2021, it was emphasized that the fight against these two issues should be increased.

In the statement made by the Cyprus Foundations Administration: “The purpose of our grandparents when establishing foundations was to serve the society”. The primary purpose of foundations is to rent land or shops to those who do not own property in the society, but have a profession, and make them productive, self-sufficient and useful people. The second purpose is to take care of the needy. Teaching our children and young people not to be selfish, to do good and to be productive individuals without waste is of great importance for our future. We will continue on our way with an understanding that embraces everyone.”

SEMINAR EVENT ON 'WASTE PREVENTION'
The online waste prevention seminar program, which started on February 15, will be completed at the end of March. Participants consist of every region of the TRNC and Turkey. In the seminar where awareness about waste was created, a movement on preventing waste was started with practices. The aim is to make it clear how much we waste unknowingly in our lifestyle, in which we are influenced by the 'consumption culture'. Following this, it is to reduce waste and increase our production with the right and need-oriented consumption habits.

DO NOT WASTE EXHIBITION AND COMPETITION EVENT
Cyprus Foundations Administration started an exhibition and competition work, which is an awareness work against waste. It organizes a recycling exhibition and competition within the framework of the event to be organized under the name of "Don't WASTE, PRODUCT". These events are held in order to emphasize the issue of waste, which is a problem of our country and the world in general, to draw attention to the food we cook from the breath we take, to the water we waste, to the shopping we do even though we do not need it without thinking, and to draw attention to the good intentions and love we waste from the hearts we break because of water, and to raise social awareness. An exhibition/competition and a conference titled "GREEN WITHOUT WASTE" will be held at the event, where everyone can participate and win an award.

WASTE PRODUCE COMPETITION EVENT
Examples of works to be included: Paintings, sculptures or furniture made from waste materials and emphasizing the importance of recycling, for example from waste bottles; or studies of exemplary applied ideas on how to evaluate waste materials.

Participation conditions:

Those living in the TRNC can participate.

People from all professions, amateur and professional, can participate in the exhibition.

Each participant can send a maximum of 3 works to the exhibition.

The works or objects to be sent to the exhibition must be produced from waste materials.

The dimensions of the work are left to the free will of the participant.

The works must be delivered to the Cyprus Foundations Administration (Su Evsal) on September 27, 2021 at the latest.

The author should write his identity information, address and age.

The participant must submit his work together with the materials from which he produced it.

Among the works produced at the end of the exhibition, 3 works in each age category identified with the slogan "Don't waste produce" will be awarded by the Cyprus Foundations Administration.

The presentation on WASTE and the opening of the RECYCLING exhibition will take place on Monday, OCTOBER 4, 2021 at Bedesten.

5000TL will be given to the first place, 3000TL to the second place and 2000TL to the third place.
