Some of the apartments, whose owners have not renewed their contracts for more than a year on the grounds that there is no life safety, and the tenants are asked to vacate, are rented to tourists for about a thousand TL a day, over the internet.
On the Airbnb site, it is seen that after the report of the Union of Chambers of Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architects, dozens of apartments, which Famagusta Municipality sent a notice to evacuate, are rented out daily.
Considering that all the residents of Laguna Starfish Apartments are tenants of the Foundations Administration, it is a crime for the tenant to rent the flat they use without the permission of the owner.
