April 15, 1956 is a date that strengthened our struggle for freedom and independence and was a turning point. On this date, we respectfully and mercifully commemorate all those who passed away, especially our late leader Dr. Fazıl Küçük and his valuable comrades who led the takeover of the Foundations by the Turkish Cypriot People and who made great efforts to successfully conclude this struggle.

This important day continues to inspire us in our quest for independence and freedom as a symbol of past sacrifices and devotion. Protecting the legacy left by our struggling heroes is our most important responsibility.

On the 69th anniversary, we once again emphasize our determination to continue the struggle for freedom and independence with the strength we have gained from the past; we express our gratitude and appreciation to our living heroes.

Let us not forget that; with this strength we have gained from our past, we will continue to struggle hand in hand for a brighter tomorrow.
