Ataullah Efendi was a student of the famous Şeyhülislam Ebussuud Efendi.

In addition, Sultan Selim II was called "Hâce-i Sultani", that is, "Sultan's Hodja", because he taught during his princedom in Manisa. His life was spent serving the nation.

Now he was waiting for death on his sick bed… He was giving his last reminder to those around him in a barely audible voice:

My will is written. I would like it to be fulfilled.

-Don't worry, sir.

-Do not neglect our foundation's water distribution business! Don't forget ice in the heat! Because distributing water to people is very rewarding… It helps to receive prayers… Then his eyes filled with tears… He couldn't sob, but he couldn't control the drops running down his white beard…

Ataullah Edendi muttered a few more sentences:

-I heard it from my teacher Ebussuud Efendi… They said, "There will come a time when people will sell even a glass of water for money"…

I always prayed that we wouldn't stay…

Of course, the people of that time were amazed at these words. Would God's water be sold for money? Who could ask money for water from a thirsty person?

And in the will of the blessed person, the following statements were included in the water section of his foundation:

“… Build a fountain at the place in question. There is icy or snowy cold water available in summer. For the sake of Allah, it should be served to every thirsty person who comes and goes with the glasses bought by the foundation.”
