Today, almost all of the public services undertaken by the modern state were carried out by foundations in the Ottoman Empire, and those who did not contribute to the "culture of good hasenat" despite their financial means were not viewed favorably by the society.

Through the foundations, a significant part of the social wealth will reach the lowest strata of the society from the richest strata of the society in a way that it will not be legally possible to return; in other words, it has been transferred to the category of social property by removing it from being the subject of private property.

Moreover, when it is considered that this transfer was made voluntarily without any obvious coercion, it can be seen that the consciousness and sensitivity about the foundation reached a bar that surpassed all civilizations in the Ottoman period.

In other words, our ancestors competed in goodness by establishing foundations. However, most of today's rich people unfortunately prefer to compete in selfishness rather than kindness.
