Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, Director General of the Cyprus Foundations Administration, hosted Vugar İsgenderov, an Azerbaijani Member of Parliament and a member of the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group.

During the meeting, issues of friendship and cooperation between the two countries were discussed. Also present were journalist and author Nadir İsrafilov, a member of the Board of Directors of the Azerbaijan Press Council; Orhan Hasanoğlu, President of the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society; and Şentürk Hoşgür, President of the Manisa Azerbaijani Cultural Association.

During the visit, potential joint efforts to further strengthen cultural, social, and historical ties were discussed. The historical role of the foundation tradition and its importance in the solidarity-based development of societies were particularly emphasized. The delegation members discussed potential collaborations to ensure the transmission of this strong tradition to future generations in both the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Azerbaijan.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer expressed his pleasure at hosting the Azerbaijani delegation, stating that strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries is of great importance for regional peace and cultural richness.

During the meeting, Azerbaijani MP Vügar İsgenderov thanked Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Erkut for their support of the Turkic Academy's work. He also expressed his gratitude to the TRNC Development Bank, the TRNC Central Bank, the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry, the Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Commerce, and the transportation sector, all of which are key institutions included in the "Turkic Economies 2024" report published as part of the Turkic World cooperation under the heading "Institutional Structure in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus." İsgenderov emphasized that these contributions significantly contribute to both a deeper understanding of the TRNC's economic structure and the strengthening of regional cooperation and development.

The meeting also discussed the Turkic Academy's study, titled "The Economies of the Turkic States 2025 Report: Transition to a Green Economy," to be published in 2025. This study is expected to analyze how member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States have aligned their economic policies with climate goals and developed solutions to environmental risks, assessing their transition to low-emission, resource-efficient, and inclusive economies. The report will also address key topics such as strengthening transportation and energy connections among the Turkic States and unlocking the potential for digital trade and investment.
