Bayraktar Mosque was built in the 1820s in memory of the Ottoman soldier who first planted the Ottoman flag in Cyprus. Located near the southern city walls of Nicosia, it stands out for its historical significance and strategic placement. The mosque provides insights into both the military and religious aspects of the Ottoman period. Though small in size, it offers an intimate place for prayer. The tombstone in its courtyard adds to its commemorative value. It remains open for worship and is regarded as a cultural heritage site.
